The Morro Group is the driving force behind the XTREME HERO AWARDS and our mission is to recognize, award and celebrate our XTREME EVERY DAY HEROES, from first responders and essential workers to veterans who have transitioned out of military service to take on the tough tasks at home.

A locally-focused, all volunteer 501(c)(3) non profit, The Morro Group is led by Steve Veyna, Dawn Beattie, and Jeffrey Bacon. The group's president is Steve Veyna, LtCol. USMC (Ret) and former Central Coast Hospital Director Materials Management/Purchasing. The group's secretary and acting treasurer, Dawn Beattie, brings boardroom management skills from her tenure as a Senior Director at Qualcomm, a San Diego-based telecommunications company. The group's vice president and one of the original founders of the XTREME HERO AWARDS, Jeffrey Bacon, currently oversees advertising and design, aided by his 30 year career creating movie posters. Together, the trio has followed the mantra of FAMILY FIRST by enlisting the help, contacts, and resources of their own families and friends to raise the funds, in kind donations, and participation required for one of the signature events. These leaders head up the event planning, volunteer organization and award distribution for the organization. They collaborate with local businesses and service providers to create impactful experiences for all the award recipients.

Located in the heart of the Central Coast, The Morro Group has proudly served our local community since 2012. You can reach us online at themorrogroup@googlegroups.com or connect with us by mail at 695 Harbor, Morro Bay, California 93442.
